Growing intolerance and outrage

I seriously wanted to write a rant post after all the stupid things that have been happening for weeks now. It took me 5 minutes to get my head straight and extinguish 3 paragraphs of fire that I wrote to calm myself down, realising this is not what this blog is meant for. I could tell you about problems but then that's not what your life is devoid of (ouch). I don't mean to be rude or offensive here but it's true if you think over it. You will meet hundreds of people who will tell you about the problems they are facing or the worst case scenario could be sharing about the problems they might not be having. People seriously stop! we don't want to know. I mean your Whatsapp, twitter and Facebook is enough to make it clear. These people will drain you of your spirit in minutes. Seldom, you find a person who just smiles, laughs and believes in having a good company without worrying over issues of daily life which we all go through subjectively. If you have good people around you then you should consider yourself to be lucky. Wait that's not all, what we see on news is even worse. News anchors and the panelists trying to bite each other's faces off in order to prove their point to be pertinent. The mindless noisy debates that runs for weeks becomes a source of entertainment for people. People are so boring, they need drama more than anything.  We are surrounded by people who take offense about anything and that's not good for health.

Drama continues. It's becoming really hard to be not tagged by people. You could have political ideologies of left, right or centre but you could have no pragmatic way. You could be the person supporting gay rights or you could be the person living in stone age. You could be practicing your religion (communal) or you could be secular (despising your own religion). You could be a doctor/engineer or you could be a student who has failed the very purpose of studying. There's no simple way of doing things left without being tagged and yelled at.

People are too quick to judge others on their opinions that they don't give them proper time and space to understand their point of view. With growing intolerance it's becoming too hard to stay politically correct. Is too much of news that's making us turn into a basket case. If a politician or a person believes that girls are responsible for the rapes than instead of educating them and changing their perception we are just adding more to their ignorance by abusing them and shunning them down. There needs to be an open space for people to exchange ideas without being smothered by media or the people. This ignorance comes at the cost of victims who suffer serious crimes. If we really want to change the society we need to kill the idea which perpetuates a notion which could be used by people as their defence and I won't be too harsh If I come upto you and ask you wake you up to see that this is what is really happening. People call for all stupid reasons for rapes when held guilty which involves girl wearing short clothes or if she's seen hanging out with a guy friend. All these things are seen as an innuendo. As long as we have that idea that the girls want to be raped or as they say, they ask for it. Then no matter how much we abuse, use hashtags online or go on candle light marches, the crimes against women will not stop. The outrage seems to be never ending. If you want to fight for something you believe in, you have to understand that you can't force your opinions on someone, you can only help bring a change by changing their perception. Your intolerance can make some people to re-asses their views over the matter but this will not eliminate the common idea which needs to be eliminated. Do you really think your intolerance and outrage is enough to curb the crimes or to bring change. Where are we really going with it?

With this I'd end this post with a short event that happened last night:

I wake up at 2 AM. Still sleepy, I pull myself out of bed to take a leak. I go to washroom switch on the lights and see something that makes me flip out in abhorrence. Does it make me homophobic?
