As much as I love Armin Van Buuren, this post is not about the weekly radio show A state of trance. It's about the magical state of mind. It's a different experience of reality. We know how this world is exponentially bigger than we can perceive. Our ignorance keeps us in a bubble which we create for ourselves. To get a significant hold on reality we come up with the belief systems which help keep ourselves grounded to where we are. We kill our ability to see beyond what's not known. When we enter this trance state we get out this rigid bubble and get a taste of alternative reality. Almost everyone in their life time have once experienced it. It could be as a kid or as an adult. In fact kids experience this state more than adults as they are in their developing years, exploring new things.
There are different dimensions in a trance state and there are different ways of entering it.
The most commonly known state of trance is the blank state of mind where the person is slightly unconscious of the surroundings. It's occurrence is very high during the day. This type of trance is more likely to be there while watching television or driving on a free straight road. It is just a regular state of mind where the senses seem to be obfuscated.
The other type of trance is when you are dazed by something peculiar, it can be the exposure of something new in the external environment. It can be easily induced through an emotional shock or a physical shock. Seeing a beautiful rainbow after spending a week in your room in dreadful conditions could be refreshing for you. It may bring some positive changes in your mind. Likewise, it can be the opposite. In these cases the mind could go through altered emotions which could take the mind into a state of trance.
The third type is the dream state. It is common among kids, they imagine themselves to be in some kind of a dreamland where they are controlling the things around them. It could also be seen at workplaces, that employees love to roll through the dream state to lighten their mood and to work better. It enhances the creativity and reduces stress from mind.
The fourth type is the famous one. In large social gatherings like raves, parties, fairs etc. There's music, people dressed up, happy vibes, a sense of heightened emotions that induces trance in a very inexplicable manner which causes euphoria.
There are other ways of inducing trance state through conscious means are
Meditation- The practice of yoga and meditation was developed over the years by seers and gurus in ancient India and goes around till date. It gained mass recognition after religions across the world accepted it as a part of spiritual pursuit.
Psychedelic substances- The fast and recreational way of entering a state of trance is by inducing psychedelic substances. The popular drugs are- marijuana, LSD & MDMA. It is often abused by people thus it should be avoided.
I didn’t realise this was a reflection of the sky in a pond for a second i was thinking ‘well that’s fucking terrifying, what if you fell down the hill into it’ (via tumblr)
What is it like:
You don't enter a state of trance, you literally break into it. One moment, you are down thinking about something and the next moment you know you will be hysterical about the fact that something like that exists. Your state of being would be uplifted and you will be hit by plethora of thoughts. It is indeed overwhelming. You will be down in the moment. All this will really sound really crazy or until you live this experience yourself. It expands our mind to dimensions we don't know exist. It is ecstatic. It makes you feel divine, there is a feeling of oneness and love. It's like being in union with the universe. All things fall into the right place. This is what gives us the artistic expression of things. It is all out there in the present but are you there to experience it is the real question. There is an endless waterfall of love and light- infinitely pouring down. Be the light and see the light in everyone. Be love and see love in everyone. The universe is full of all that is needed, all you have to do is open yourself to receive it. Blessed are those who see beautiful things in humble places where other people see nothing.
